Why Sugarland & their music mean so much to me….

Why Sugarland & their music mean so much to me….

People ask me all of the time why I love Sugarland so much and how do I not get tired of seeing them in concert all the time especially when it’s the same concert.  I give the same answer every time… they are simply amazing.  It’s hard to put into words sometimes just how much I connect with both their music and them as singers, songwriters & people.  Everyone has had people in their lives whether we know them personally or not that have touched our lives. I am lucky enough to have a great network of friends & family that do this but I am also lucky enough to have Sugarland & their music in my life to do this as well.  Not only do they inspire but they make you feel special.  It’s like we the fans really are friends with Jennifer & Kristian. When you are at a concert it feels like it’s just you, Jennifer & Kristian hanging out and having fun…you sometimes forget there are thousands of other people there with you until a song like Find the Beat Again comes on and all of you are throwing your fists in the air together yelling “Hey” at the top of your lungs J (On a side note I do this all of the time in my car and have gotten some entertaining looks from other drivers lol! It’s such a fun, energetic song you just can’t help it!) I can honestly say I could listen to Sugarland all day long and never grow tired of them.
Albany, NY - In the Hands of the Fans
Sugarland’s music provides therapy to me….it inspires me, makes me forget what was bothering me, puts a smile on my face no matter what mood I’m in, makes the work day go faster, makes me believe and so much more.  All I have to do is turn on one of their songs (and there is always one that matches my mood or the occasion at hand) and I instantly feel better.  The Incredible Machine album came out at the perfect time.  2 months after its release I was laid off from my job of 6 years. Little Miss, Shine the Light, Find the Beat Again all spoke to me which such power and understanding.  Even though it was a very difficult time for me, I knew it would “be alright again”.  I just had to hang in there and things would work out how they were supposed to…. 5 months later I was lucky enough to land back on my feet with a new job.  Thank you Jennifer & Kristian for writing the songs you write and for being “you”.

I had the privilege of meeting Jennifer & Kristian back in 2007 and what humble people they were back then and what humble people they still are.  I have had several friends ask me, how do you know they are such humble people and my answer to them is, attend one of their concerts and you will see.  Heck just listen to them speak about their music, their fans and their lives and you will understand.  Unlike so many artists out there today, they really do care about their fans and the true fans know this.  I mean they did name this year’s tour “In the Hands of the Fans “ J  and boy is this a fun tour!  I recently flew up to Albany to attend a show and even though I have the most amazing time at every Sugarland concert, this one was truly phenomenal.  The amount of interaction with the fans was amazing.  I was lucky enough to make it front row in the pit and what a treat it was getting to be that close to Jennifer and Kristian.  I have come to the conclusion that those 2 never grow tired when they are on stage.  The connection they share and the way they are able to play off each other is rare and magical.  No matter how many times I have seen them I always leave the concerts going wow, they really are amazing people and great friends to each other.  I hope to get the opportunity to meet with both of them again….chat, share a glass of wine and or something J

I really could go on and on about why I love Sugarland and why everyone should give their music a chance if you haven’t already.  The memories you make and people you meet are worth it alone. For those of my friends (and even my mom) who decided to give them a chance and now enjoy them, thanks for listening to me….told you that you wouldn’t be disappointed! The memories I have made through Sugarland our priceless.  I have met so many new people through the fan club and concerts.  One of my best memories last year was the last week my friend Tony was in town before moving to England he, our friend Jen and myself decided to have our own “Sugarland” concert in his living room.  With a Sugarland dvd on in the background, Tony on air guitar and Jen & I on vocals we totally made it a “concert” to never forget.  Hoping one day to take him to an actual concert J Until then I am counting down until the Tampa concert in July…..this will be my 3rd concert with my dad and he is so stoked  to see Sugarland again lol!

Oh and a big thank you to Sugarland’s music introducing me to my good friend Tammy.  Our passion for Sugarland led a mutual friend to introduce us I am so glad that she did.  It is great having a friend that “just gets it” when it comes to my love for Sugarland.  Not many people would travel all over to attend a concert or fly across country to attend a Duets show taping J (hope we didn’t annoy you too much Jennifer yelling your name during the commercial breaks….thanks for always waving back to us and smiling!). I look forward to the countless amount of memories still to be made.

Well that was just a little bit of why Sugarland and their music mean so much to me.  THANK YOU Jennifer & Kristian for doing what you do and always being so nice to us fans.  It means the world to us.  Looking forward to many more concerts, albums and great memories from you guys.
