Unfortunately I didn't make it over to the KSC to see the launch (they were expecting over 50,000 people which = mass insanity trying to leave and sitting for hours in traffic) but I did get to watch it from Lake Underhill. Of course the skies were nice and clear most of the day up until right before the launch when the big billowing things started rolling in. I was still able to watch it go up in between the clouds and snap a few shots...
Only 2 more shuttle launches left and then the program is retired. It will be weird to no longer have these going up in our backyard every year. No more sonic booms scaring the crap out of you because you forgot the shuttle was landing. It's crazy to think about.
