Reindeer Run/Walk 5k 2013...

Just some of the fun we had doing the Reindeer Run (well you could also walk so that's what we did lol) today.  Was a fun walk for a good cause...collecting toys for kids for Christmas.

Wine bottles dressed in white lights for Christmas.....

Decided to decorate my wine rack this year  for Christmas with white lights. Even wine bottles like to feel pretty for the holidays!  Must say I am quite pleased with the end result :)

JFK - 50 years after

Even though I wasn't around during the JFK reign it's still hard to believe it's been 50 years since his assassination.  Last month I saw both where he is buried and where he was fatally killed without evening planning to. I went to DC on vacation and went to Arlington National Cemetery where I saw JFK's grave and eternal flame.  It was already quite moving to be in Arlington Cemetery then to see where such an icon was buried was a lot of sadness.  The following weekend I ended up in Dallas for work and visited the grassy knoll and 2 "x's" in the road marking where he was 1st shot then fatally shot.  It's a surreal moment to stand in the road where the "x's" are and think that a president was killed there. Kinda crazy to me that I saw both of these places right before the 50th anniversary. 

I heart Nashville....

Finally visited Nashville for the first time last month and I instantly fell in love with it!!! Such a fun, energetic city.  Being a country music fan made this trip even more exciting for me.  The amount of live music always going on simple amazed me.  I can't wait to go back! 

DIY Wine Bottle Candle Holders.....

 Some friends and I decided to take a stab at making our own wine bottle candle holders. After doing a little research online and purchasing a glass bottle cutter we were ready to see what kind of magic we could make.  It took a few (ok several) tries for us to figure things out but we finally got it and the end result was beautiful :) We have decided the thickness and quality of the glass definitely plays a major role in how the glass breaks.  Some pics below of the process and end result.  We used the boiling water/ice water route but there are several other options out there should you want to give it a shot. Sorry for the quality of some of the pics....we were just so excited lol!

KISS concert....

Went to my first and probably last KISS concert last night at the Amway Arena here in Orlando. Definitely not my kind of concert music but they at least put on a good show.  The last song they performed was finally one I knew..."I wanna rock n' roll all night and party every day".  I will say that Gene Simmons frightened me a tad during one of his songs where there was "blood" coming all out of his mouth.  Glad I went but yeah not going to make it a repeat one lol!  Picture below I took of Gene rockin' out in full fledged crazy KISS costume. 

NASCAR....signing the track at Daytona

Last month I attended the Coke Zero 400 NASCAR race at Daytona International Speedway.  Luckily I have a friend who works with Coke as a partner so we got to watch the race from their awesome suite. Thank goodness as it was July in Florida which means it's a thousand degrees outside and the suite was air conditioned :) Well while wandering around before the race we went down the track at the start/finish line and I noticed all of these people squatting down and signing the actual line.  I thought to myself "when in Rome" so I grabbed a sharpie and signed my name to the track as well. Who the heck knew you could actually sign the track!!  These people were signing the yellow lines down the middle of the track, the white outside lines....anywhere they could get the sharpie to show up they were signing away.  I think I was pretty smart to sign the start/finish because really who is going to take the time to read the yellow lines??  Now my name (and Sugarland bc you know I couldn't just sign my name) is forever on the Daytona track....or at least until someone comes by and scribbles over it.  Pic below of the fun!

St. Pete Beach in July....

St. Pete Beach is a beautiful beach when the sun is out :)  After two days in a row of rain the sun finally made an appearance while I was there.  Couple seashell pics I took below.  

Meeting NKOTB....

OMG, OMG, OMG.....I am still freaking out that I actually got to get my picture with New Kids on the Block aka NKOTB!!!  Oh and not only did I get to get my picture with them but I attended an exclusive press conference that they did for the local radio station Mix 105.1!!  So much flippin fun I can't even describe it so just look below at how awesome my friend Tammy & I look standing among these hotties :)

Had a blast visiting England especially loved the weather....highs in the 50's in May.  Hell yeah!  Hoping to post a couple pieces on my trip there starting with this one on the London Eye.  Unfortunately it was a cloudy day (who am I kidding it's pretty much always cloudy in London) the day I visited so the pictures weren't that great.  Did manage to snag one of myself in the 5 min the sun was out though.  It's below along with a couple other pics I snagged of the view from the Eye.  Enjoy people :)

Maroon 5 at the Amway Center....

Hello Adam Levine!!  That man knows how to make you swoon lol!  He and Maroon 5 put on a great show here in Orlando last night.  Had the crowd on their feet the whole hour and a half they performed.  Adam sure could work that stage! Speaking of the stage, really enjoyed the setup they had.  A big "M" that allowed for 3 areas out into the crowd along with a bridge and mini stage to perform the encores on made most lower bowl seats great no matter where you were. Luckily I had AMAZING seats and Adam favored the side of the arena we sat on :) If you are a Maroon 5 fan or even just an Adam fan, you should definitely check them out on tour!

Bands, Brew & BBQ at SeaWorld had another great act this past Sunday....Darius Rucker.  Some of you may know him as Hootie from Hootie & the Blowfish.  I must say he has found his calling as a country singer.  He put on a great show!

The Beach Boys....well sort of

Attended a "Beach Boys" concert yesterday at SeaWorld Orlando.  I use the name Beach Boys loosely as there was only one original Beach Boy still singing in the group - Mike Love. Seems he decided to kick the rest of the real Beach Boys out of the band and do his own tour as he owns the rights to the name the Beach Boys.  Must say though the backup band he picked did make it sound like it was the "real" Beach Boys so no complaints from me :)

Mr. Hottie aka Luke Bryan in Orlando

Last Friday I had the pleasure of seeing Luke Bryan in concert here in Orlando at the Amway.  What a concert it was!!  I am now even more in love with him than I already was.  He is the all around package...great voice, great looks, great personality, great moves. I really do need a "real life" Luke Bryan :) If you haven't seen him in concert yet, I suggest you do.  First headlining tour and he sold out all the shows and had to add more! Great concert people...you will not be disappointed.

My AWESOME new boots.....

I searched high and low for fun new cowgirl boots and FINALLY found a pair I LOVE!!  I must say these are some pretty awesome boots that will make quite a few people jealous lol!  I am calling them my Sugarland boots as they have the heart with wings on them which of course is Sugarland's famous image. Can't wait to take these boots to Nashville and wear them to the Bluebird Cafe and everyone else in Music City!
